In December 2020, the US Congress passed a bill to extend the solar investment tax credit (ITC) for two years and provide additional funds for research and development. In October 2020, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan announced the "Green Growth Strategy for Carbon Neutrality by 2050", which proposed policy measures in five aspects: fiscal budget, taxation, finance, regulations and standardization, and international cooperation in 14 key areas such as offshore wind energy, hydrogen energy, and solar energy.
